Nambour Crushers bounced back into the winners circle with a strong performance against Caloundra at Shark Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Maudsley Excavation Division 1 side lead from start to finish scoring five tries to the Shark’s three with David Oakes successfully kicking four conversions from five.

It took a combined club effort to put an injury depleted team on the paddock with Kevin Campbell and Luke Whitpaine backing up from reserve grade and under 18s players Ryan Hargreaves and Kye Sherry putting in a solid effort.

Falcons players Kyle Shelford and Nathan Saumalu once again made really strong on-field contributions and helped set the tone of the game in attack and defence.

Try scorers for Nambour were Paul McKewin, Brenton Stonier (2) and Wil Warren with Dylan McGrath scoring the final try to seal the game. McGrath didn’t miss a beat in his come back from injury playing the full 80 minutes.

Stalwarts Brenton Stonier and Paul McKewin helped steer a committed team around the paddock to produce a convincing win for the side. Final score was Nambour Crushers 28 to Caloundra Sharks 14.

Nambour travel to Noosa on Saturday 12th June to take on the Noosa Pirates. Next home games at Crusher Park will be Saturday 19th June against Gympie Devils.
